Usage and Maintenance

MY BURNER(S) WON’T LIGHT

- Check to see if the LP gas tank valve is closed. If so, make sure the regulator is securely attached to the LP gas tank (check the “Installing LP Gas Tank” section in manual for how-to) then turn LP gas tank valve to “OPEN”.

- Check to see if the LP gas tank is low or empty. If so, refill LP gas tank. Use “Checking for Leaks” section in manual if concerned about tank.

- Check to see if the wires or electrodes are covered with cooking residue. If so, clean wire and/or electrodes with rubbing alcohol.

- Check to see if the electrode and burners are wet. If so, wipe dry with a clean cloth.

- Check to see if the electrode is cracked or broken (indicated by spark). If so, call customer care for a replacement part at 1.800.694.0013

- Check to see if a wire is loose or disconnected. If so, reconnect wire or call customer care for assistance.

- Check to see if there is an obstruction of gas flow. If so, clear the buner/ventri tube and check for a bend or kink in the hose.

GAS DOESN’T SEEM TO BE FLOWING TO THE BURNERS

Check to make sure the overfilling prevention device hasn’t activated. If so, follow these steps.
1. Turn control knobs to “ OFF”
2. Wait 30 seconds and light griddle
3. If flames are still too low, reset the overfilling prevention device:
4. Turn control knob(s) “ OFF”
5. Turn LP gas tank valve to “CLOSED”
6. Disconnect regulator
7. Turn control knobs to  and  (HIGH)
8. Wait 1 minute
9. Turn control knobs to “ OFF”
10. Reconnect regulator and leak check connections, being careful not to fully open valve
11. Light griddle per “Lighting” section

THE FLAME IS LOW AND/OR TEMPERATURE DOESN’T SEEM TO BE GETTING HOT

Check to see if the burner ports are clogged or blocked. If so, clean the burner ports with a dry cloth and rubbing alcohol.

THE FLAME IS YELLOW OR ORANGE

New burner may have residual manufacturing oils. To fix, burn the griddle for 15 minutes on high with the lid closed.

I’M NOTICING FLARE-UPS

- Check to see if there is a grease build-up. If so, remove and clean clean all griddle parts by referencing the “cleaning and care” section of the manual.

- Check to see if there is excessive fat in the meat you are preparing. If so, trim fat from meat prior to cooking.

MY COOKTOP SEEMS TO BE RUSTING

The cooking surface is steel and depending on your specific use frequency and environment, it’s possible and normal if the surface rusts. Reference the “Refurbish the Griddle Surface” section of the manual to see care instructions and you’ll be cooking again in no time.

HOW DO I SEASON MY RAZOR GRIDDLE?

WHY DO SOME AREAS SEEM HOTTER THAN OTHERS?

Check to see if one of the burners has become obstructed, causing the other to work harder and become hotter. After cleaning, if problem persists, call 1.800.694.0013 for assistance.

WHAT OIL IS BEST TO SEASON MY RAZOR?

We recommend the following oils for seasoning purposes: olive oil, vegetable oil, canola oil, coconut oil, flax seed oil and sesame oil. Lard can also be used to season the griddle top.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO PUT THE RAZOR TOGETHER?

Depending on the model, the time may vary but typically around 30 minutes for most models. Assembly is designed to be clear and simple, larger models we recommend two people due to the weight of the units.

HOW IS THE RAZOR DIFFERENT/BETTER THAN OTHER GRIDDLES?
